AWAKE AWAKE for the Lord is Coming!

30th November 2020Stacy McHale

The first candle on our Advent wreath is burning brightly to show that we are Hopeful and full of Joy to be in a time to prepare for the coming of our Saviour.

Each day in Advent, we will start the day opening a door on our virtual advent calendar – many of the days have special or surprise video messages which will keep us focused on how best to prepare our hearts for Jesus’ birth.

Presentation Award Winners… Year 2

30th November 2020Ms T Picken
Congratulations to Y2 who won the 1st Presentation Award. Every time a child’s book shows improved handwriting or ‘perfect’ presentation their teacher adds class presentation points. We compare class points each week in celebration assembly to see who is in the lead, and at the end of the first term, Y2 won! 🤩
We can’t wait to see who will in December. The winning class can choose their treat.

Happy St Edmund’s Day!

27th November 2020Stacy McHale

27th November is St Edmund’s Feast Day! Mrs Hazeldine, the Head Teacher from St Edmund’s, has shared the virtual link to their special feast day Mass with me today for us to join in Holy Mass. I love St Edmund’s school! I went there from when I was 11-18 years old, so St Edmund is a big part of my spiritual life.  St Edmund, pray for us.

Year 3 Saint Catherine of Siena Liturgy

26th November 2020Ms T Picken

Year 3 held a class liturgy in honour of our class saint, Saint Catherine of Siena.  They planned it out themselves, and led it beautifully from start to finish.  Everyone has made a promise which they are going to fulfil over the coming days.

Odd Socks for Antibullying Week

15th November 2020Stacy McHale

Don’t forget your odd socks on Monday! We are showing how we understand and tolerate how different or unique we all are. St Teresa’s is a bully free zone and we thank God for how uniquely he made us and we show compassion to everyone, regardless of our differences. #antibullyingweek

We will remember them…

15th November 2020Stacy McHale

Every class added a beautiful tribute made of hand made poppies to our special Remembrance Day hall area on Wednesday 11th. The children took part in a virtual assembly reminding them of why we stand for 2 minute silence at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month.

Presenting our Academy Councillors….

21st October 2020Stacy McHale

We were really impressed with the standard of manifestos, candidate applications and election campaigns. In a democratic election, 12 pupils were successfully elected to represent the pupils of St Teresa’s and have joined the leadership team of St Teresa’s. Click here to read the letter the new Academy Councillors received so you can see what they are working on at the moment. Remember! you can speak to your class councillors to suggest school improvements or discuss any ideas you have, like all our leaders, they are there to listen!

Little Way Week

24th September 2020Stacy McHale

From 1st October, which is St Teresa’s Feast Day, our focus for the week will be doing all small things with great love.

Some of the things we will be doing during this week:-

  • Learning how a smile or a thank you or holding a door can brighten someone’s day.
  • Learning that we don’t always know that others are feeling down and how by showing Jesus’ love, we can spread happiness and peace.
  • Each class will have a basket on their prayer table. If they see someone else do a little good deed, they can write it down and add it to the basket. These will be reflected on daily during prayer and meditation sessions.
  • Your teachers will be choosing the Weekly Award certificate for someone who has shown they have tried to do lots of good little things through the week and being like our patron saint.
  • Prayer tables will have a flower as a symbol, children are welcome to make paper flowers or draw them and add to this if they wish.
  • On Thursday 1st, as St Teresa loved flowers and gardening, the children can wear bright or floral clothes or choose to wear black and white to remember that St Teresa was a C_______ N____?
  • In lessons, children will also be writing prayer, poetry and doing artwork to share with other classes and parents in our Google Classrooms.
DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER IDEAS TO HELP US FOCUS ON GOOD DEEDS THIS WEEK? LET US KNOW, WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR MORE OF YOUR IDEAS.
