Class teachers will soon be sending you this term’s letter with the knowledge, concepts and vocabulary that your child will be learning this term. If you see something like ‘Modal Verb’ or ‘Partitioning’ a fantastic website to use is Oxford Owl – it explains all the National Curriculum Objectives for parents and suggests little activities to help your child at home. CLICK HERE. There is also a free E-Book Library on Oxford Owl. Remember you can also speak to staff at school or email the class teacher.
Throughout the Holy Week, each class led the school through the Stations of the Cross with scripture readings and prayer. Well done pupils for being so reverent as we walk through the footsteps of Jesus.

The children have been closely monitoring the progress of the building work and are very excited to get a new space to explore.

This week, pupils are undertaking a sponsored walk to raise money for the Good Shepherd Appeal by Father Hudson’s Care. They need to walk the mile course that has been designed and measured by the Year 6 pupils. The children start within the school playground and then venture out of the school premises and down Malins Road before returning to school and continuing around the school perimeter.

Maths on the Move
Pupils in Year 3, 4 and 5 have been participating in a fun and exciting maths programme called ‘Maths on the Move’ which is delivered by RB Gym & Sport. This is a unique and innovative programme that uses the concept of physically active learning to enhance children’s confidence and attainment in maths. The programme covers all learning outcomes of the maths curriculum for KS2.
Pupils are actively engaged in the sessions and look forward to the challenges each week.
Our first chick has hatched! The children were so excited to see the open egg shell and small life form in the incubator this morning. Keep watching HERE to see more chicks hatch and how they develop from hatchlings to young hens or cockerels over the next few days.
Each class will lead our school through a number of the Stations of the Cross in the hall during Holy Week. We encourage you to pray at home too, reflecting on Jesus’ cross and death. CLICK HERE for each stations’ focus on Jesus and our own hearts this Lent.
Our Y4 and Y5 students came up with some amazing questions to ask Meg the Scientist who works for Pfiser.
We learned that she is currently working with oncologists and ‘Field Force’ to create a new medicine for cancer patients. We learned lots more about science labs and how vaccines are developed. Mrs Rose and Mrs McHale were really impressed with the high quality questions our pupils came up with. We are all very inspired by our meeting today!
