School Council Skip-a-thon

14th July 2021Ms T Picken

This week the School Council organised a Skip-a-thon to raise money to buy more sports equipment for break and lunch time. Each class took part in skipping challenges and donated  £1. The Skip-a-thon was developed by two School Councillors in Year 4 (Gurleenjot and Prakriti) who came up with the idea after seeing some water-damaged equipment. They met with Mrs McHale to pitch their idea to replace the equipment. Mrs McHale was impressed with their entrepreneurial skills and gave them permission to organise the event. Gurleenjot and Prakriti organised the events; researched the cost of the equipment; created posters to display in school and collected and counted the donation money.

They raised a fantastic £50!!!

We are so proud of Gurleenjot and Prakriti who had a small idea which grew into something much bigger!

Well done!

Our Day in Paris

18th June 2021Ms T Picken

Our Day in Paris!

Passport ready, we all took off (virtually) for Paris on Thursday. Children enjoyed having their passport stamped for different opportunities to learn about the Capital city, improve their French, study the artist Claude Monet and much more. They also visited a French café where they were able to sample a range of French foods. Throughout the day, pupils read French books and took part in a whole school art project based on ‘Water Garden’ by Monet. At lunch time we even held our very own Tour de France cycle event! Well done to the Bikability pupils in Year 4 and Year 5 who took part!
