Remembering the Fallen on Armistice Day

11th November 2021Ms T Picken

Our school community came together to reverently take part in our Remembrance Day assembly and two minute silence. Pupils laid their wreaths on our memorial alter and as they paused at 11 o’clock, their thoughts turned to those brave, loved men and women, both fallen and continuing to serve, who have made possible our peace.

At the going down of the sun,

and in the morning,

We will remember them.

Lest We Forget

Supporting the Royal British Legion’s Centenary

4th November 2021Stacy McHale

Our prayer focus in November is for those who have died. As we move towards Remembrance day, we support the Royal British Legion. Our Head & Deputy Boys and Girls from Y6 are selling Poppy Appeal items each day leading up to Remembrance Sunday. On the 11th November we will again gather as a school community to lay our arts and crafts to remember those who have died in war. May they rest in peace.

This year, the Royal British Legion celebrates a centenary supporting service men and women and their families. How many years is a centenary? Tell your teacher to earn a house point!

St Francis of Assisi’s Feast Day

6th October 2021Ms T Picken

We celebrated St Francis of Assisi’s Feast Day with a special liturgy led by Year 2. They taught us all about their class saint and our MAC saint- St Francis.

Our St Francis and St Clare MAC gifted us a beautiful olive tree this week. Our school council have met to decide the best location for it to be planted! We can’t wait to see it grow and produce delicious olives.
A lovely symbol of peace and friendship that we can see everyday!

‘I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God forever’
