Safer Internet Day 2022 celebrates young people’s role in creating a
safer internet and the ways they are shaping the interactive
entertainment spaces they are a part of. The platforms young people
use are spaces for connection, community and collaboration, which
is why the day challenges them to foster supportive relationships
and respectful communities, whilst equipping them with the skills
they need to keep themselves and others safe in these spaces.
Everyone in St Andrew’s House enjoyed their rewards for collecting the most house points last term. They enjoyed wearing blue, yummy treats and the playground to themselves for extra break time. House Captain Jake even made it back from illness today to lead his team in their celebrations. Thank you blue team for your impeccable manners today too.
Ms Picken had an extra thing to celebrate this Christmas time. She gave birth to her baby and called him Harrison. We wish Mr and Ms Picken all the very best as new parents and we will continue to pray for them and baby Harrison.
Lots of schools are wearing Christmas Jumpers today to raise money for Save the Children. But how many school children did a full Wake Up Shake Up workout at 8.30am wearing their jumpers? Only @ St Teresa’s! Well done everyone and thanks for all the charity donations. Remember Wake Up Shake Up runs every Friday from 8.30am, come along, be active to some awesome tunes and start the day the healthy way. #StTeresasproud.
Amazing athletic skills were displayed by our pupils this afternoon when they won the Multi-Skills competition at St Matthias! Pupils took part in a range of physical activities and displayed great skills and speed.
Well done to all our pupils who took part! #StTersasproud
In English, Year 2 have been looking at writing instructions based on their book – The Night Pirate. Yesterday, they made pirate hats by following a set of instructions and trying to be as accurate as they can!
Later this week they will be writing instructions on how to steal treasure from pirates.
Well done Year 2!
We started Advent in school today with a beautiful Advent Mass. We welcomed Fr Pawel and Y6 led the Mass reverently. As well as enjoying working together to make snow people on our field, we also took time to change our class prayer areas to show: purple, Advent, preparing, hope and joy.
This week, was Anti-Bullying Week! We launched our week with wearing odd socks to celebrate how we are all unique! Pupils have learnt all about bullying and how they can show kindness through their words and actions. They have learnt how to get help if they are bullied or if they see someone being bullied.
On Tuesday, Year 3, 4 and 5 took part in amazing drama workshops led by the Central Youth Theatre which focused on well being, positivity and kindness to encourage positive mental health, well being and resilience!
If you would like advice on bullying and how to speak to child about it, the Anti-Bullying Alliance have a host of information and advice for parents on their website. Please see the link for these fantastic resources:

Our British Value focus for this term is the Rule of Law. This week, pupils in Key Stage 2 enhanced their knowledge of the world by taking part in a virtual trip to Parliament!
They learnt about how laws are made and who makes them. They also explored laws that can affect them and followed the progress of a Bill through the House of Commons and the House of Lords.
They were extremely lucky to have the opportunity to take part in a virtual debate and were joined by our very own Wolverhampton MP, Pat McFadden, for a special question and answer session. Pupils quizzed him on how laws affect our community and his involvement with how laws are made. We definitely have some aspiring future MPs!!
