Holy Souls Mass

2nd November 2022Ms T Picken

Today we gathered together for our Holy Souls Mass. We prayed for those who have died and are in purgatory. Father explained the meaning of Holy Souls day and how it is a day of prayers and remembrance for the faithfully departed.

Immortal God, holy Lord, Father and Protector of all You have created, we raise our hearts to You today for those who have passed out of this mortal life. Amen

2nd November 2022Ms T Picken

We were very lucky to have a visit from the West Midlands Fire Service this week.

Pupils learnt how the Fire Engine is used and the role of the Fire Fighters. They also heard about the dangers with fire and fireworks, ahead of Bonfire Night, and how to keep themselves safe. Pupils loved using the fire hose and seeing all the different parts of the fire truck.

Thank you to the Bilston Fire Station for visiting- we loved it!

Rule of Law: Our Virtual trip to Parliament to Understand How Laws are Made

12th November 2021Ms T Picken

Our British Value focus for this term is the Rule of Law. This week, pupils in Key Stage 2 enhanced their knowledge of the world by taking part in a virtual trip to Parliament!

They learnt about how laws are made and who makes them. They also explored laws that can affect them and  followed the progress of a Bill through the House of Commons and the House of Lords.

They were extremely lucky to have the opportunity to take part in a virtual debate and were joined by our very own Wolverhampton MP, Pat McFadden, for a special question and answer session. Pupils quizzed him on how laws affect our community and his involvement with how laws are made. We definitely have some aspiring future MPs!!
