Today, we celebrated the Feast of the Ascension together as a whole school. We reflected on the scripture in the Homily with Fr Pawel. Thank you to our prayer leaders for reading beautifully and KS1 children helping too.

St Teresa’s Prayer Leaders having been looking at all the amazing Easter Gardens that have been coming into school these last few weeks. Thank you for all the amazing creations and for the families who helped and supported at home. Jesus has Risen – Alleluia!
We gathered in this hall this week to reflect on the 14 Stations of the Cross. Each day we deeply thought on the difficult journey Jesus went on, leading to His death on Good Friday. Children across our school, announced each station and read prayers, allowing us to think what Jesus did for us.

What a fun-filled Science Week we have had at St Teresa’s, with the focus of time. 🧪 🧫 🧬 Every class have been taking part in different class experiments and across the school, all the classes took part in a whole school experiment, where we became anatomists. We have been developing our working scientifically and enquiry skills but most importantly, simply enjoying the wonders of science!
The chicks have arrived at St Teresa’s! The children have been eagerly watching them as they hatched from their eggs. Soon they will be moving to their cosy brooder box and we will continue to watch them grow into young hens and cockerels. Ask you child what an egg tooth is, about nutrition or about the life cycle of a chick. Remember you can watch the live feed from the link on our school website. Reception & Y1 Family Fridays will be in the hall to read chick diaries together and make observations.
This week for Lent, we went our BIG Lent walk around the local area. The children did amazingly and thank you for all the money raised, which will be sent off to CAFOD to help those in need. Also, another thank you to the children who were picking up the litter on the journey. Taking care of God’s world is important 🌎
Reading ambassadors had the first peak of our exciting new outdoor reading shed this morning

Year 5 had an exciting afternoon in their workshop. They looked at runes and tried to act out different letters of the alphabet. They also took a part in a famous Norse story about Thor’s hammer going missing. Some amazing role playing – well done!
Saint Teresa’s have had a Father Hudson’s Care assembly this week, focusing on how we can help the homeless with our time and donations. Your child will be given an envelope to bring back into school. Any donations will be greatly appreciated during this season of Lent.
Year 3 went back in time today to look at the Roman Empire during a workshop. We looked at how it conquered and integrated dozens of cultures and we also looked at the Roman’s imaginative innovations.
